- Help text
- Percentage of 5 year olds with dental decay extending to the dentine layer which can be detected by visual observation alone. Population weighting was used to calculate percentages. For more information go to http://www.nwph.net/dentalhealth/Dental This is calculated as total number of 5 year olds with dental decay in an area divided by the number of examined five year old children in an area multiplied by 100.
Numbers suppressed where the sample size <30. LAs are not included if the area did not take part in the survey or if the number examined was too small (less than 30) for a robust estimate.
