- This indicator is collected through the Local Government Workforce Survey. The question is: 'what was the total number of employee-working days spent on off-the-job training in your authority in the current financial year?'
The survey was conducted by LGA Analysis and Research, in partnership with Local Government Improvement and Development and Local Government Employers, and updates the Local Government Workforce Survey 2009. All Heads of Human Resources (or equivalent position) in English authorities were asked to complete the online survey between July and September 2010. The final response rate achieved was 59 per cent (207 authorities). The responses exclude all staff in schools maintained by the Local Education Authority.
