- Help text
- This is the completed immunisations rate at five years of children for whom the local authority is responsible who reached their fifth birthday in this quarter, would have been scheduled to receive two doses of MMR. The MMR vaccine protects against three illnesses measles, mumps and rubella (German measles). All highly infectious conditions that can easily spread between unvaccinated people, that can have serious complications, including meningitis, swelling of the brain (encephalitis) and deafness.
In England, local teams and Child Health Record Departments provided data for upper tier local authorities (LAs) and the associated general practices (GP). All English data were collected through NHS Digital’s Strategic Data Collection Service. There are some expections where for some local authorities GP data only is included (excludes unregistered population), which can lead to under-estimates of coverage. GP level data was censored when individual values were less than 5.
City of London is included in Hackney data.
