- DISCONTINUED DATA - Final available dataset: fin_2007_08. This is based on the proportion of adult men who drank 8 or more units of alcohol on their heaviest drinking day in the previous seven days at the time of survey, and adult women who drank 6 or more units of alcohol on their heaviest drinking day in the previous seven days at the time of the survey.
Data is collated through the Health Survey for England (HSE) which is commissioned by the Department of Health and carried out by the Joint Health Survey Unit of Social and Community Planning Research and of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College, London.
The local authority figures are modelled estimates (based on the national survey). They should, therefore, be used and interpreted with caution and not used to measure performance or change over time.
