Available to LG Inform Plus subscribers, it provides information on what current legislation gives English and Welsh councils the power to do and what it requires them to do in law. Advanced searching and filtering options make it easy to find specific powers and duties based on legislation, business function and keyword, and results are easily exported in commonly used formats.

Pupils per Adult: All state-funded schools (14779) Metric type
- Help text
- The number of full-time equivalent (FTE) pupils per FTE adults employed by state-funded schools.
These results are inclusive of all state-funded schools; state-funded nursery, primary, secondary schools including academies, converter academies and sponsor led academies, free schools, technical colleges, studio schools, special schools and pupil referral units. Any centrally employed adults working in state-funded schools are also included in these figures. Middle schools are classed as deemed, i.e. as either primary or secondary. All through schools are deemed secondary.
This includes all full and part-time teachers, qualified and unqualified, classroom and school leadership group teachers (Head teachers, Deputy and Assistant Head teachers) as well as support staff. Administrative, clerical and auxiliary staff are excluded from these results.
The number of FTE adults working in schools is calculated by converting part-time staff’s hours into a full-time staff equivalent. For example, if a standard full-time working week was 37 hours and a part-time member of staff works 18.5 hours, their FTE would be 0.5
Only pupils who did not attend both morning and afternoon sessions are regarded as part-time. All part-time pupils are given an FTE of 0.5.
Full time headcount + part time FTE = total FTE staff/pupils.
