Total number of classroom teachers (FTE): LA maintained special schools/pupil referral units (14754) Metric type
- Help text
- Total number of classroom teachers employed by LA maintained special schools/pupil referral units. This includes all full and part-time, qualified and unqualified, classroom teachers.
These results only include schools funded and controlled by the local education authority. Any centrally employed classroom teachers working in LA maintained schools are included in these figures.
FTE results are calculated by converting part-time staff’s hours into a full-time staff equivalent. For example, if a standard full-time working week was 37 hours and a part-time classroom teacher works 18.5 hours, their FTE would be 0.5.
Full time headcount + part time FTE = total FTE classroom teachers. This provides a better indication of total labour input than a simple headcount.
