- A headcount of all teachers employed by state-funded secondary schools. This includes all full and part-time teachers, qualified and unqualified, classroom and school leadership group teachers (Head teachers, Deputy and Assistant Head teachers).
These results are inclusive of all state-funded secondary schools including academies, converter academies and sponsor led academies, free schools, special schools and pupil referral units for secondary school aged pupils, as well as technical colleges and studio schools. Any centrally employed teachers working within state-funded secondary schools are also included in these figure as are the teachers of any middle schools deemed secondary schools. All through schools are deemed secondary and are included in these figures.
Headcount figures are based on the number of teachers with an employment contract.
