- A headcount of all classroom teachers employed by state-funded nursery and primary schools. This includes all full and part-time, qualified and unqualified, classroom teachers.
These results are inclusive of all state-funded nursery and primary schools including academies, converter academies and sponsor led academies, free schools, special schools and pupil referral units for primary school aged pupils. Any centrally employed classroom teachers working in state-funded nursery and primary schools are also included in these figures as are the classroom teachers of middle schools deemed primary schools.
Headcount figures are based on the number of classroom teachers with an employment contract.
