Did you know we have a dedicated powers and duties tool?
Available to LG Inform Plus subscribers, it provides information on what current legislation gives English and Welsh councils the power to do and what it requires them to do in law. Advanced searching and filtering options make it easy to find specific powers and duties based on legislation, business function and keyword, and results are easily exported in commonly used formats.

Proportion of females aged 50 to 64 screened for cervical cancer in previous 5.5 years (13650) Metric type
- Help text
- The proportion of women eligible for screening who have had a test with a recorded result at least once in the previous 5.5 years. Eligible women is the number of women aged 49 to 64 years resident in the area (determined by postcode of residence) who are eligible for cervical cancer screening at a given point in time, excluding those whose recall has been ceased for clinical reasons (e.g. due to previous bilateral mastectomy).
This indicator gives screening coverage by local authority . This is not the same as the indicator based on population registered with primary care organisations which include patients wherever they live. This is likely to result in different England totals depending on selected (registered or resident) population footprint. The indicator excludes women outside the target age range for the screening programme who may self-refer for screening.
England figures have been aggregated from local authority data and exclude women resident in Wales or of unknown local authority
