Did you know we have a dedicated powers and duties tool?
Available to LG Inform Plus subscribers, it provides information on what current legislation gives English and Welsh councils the power to do and what it requires them to do in law. Advanced searching and filtering options make it easy to find specific powers and duties based on legislation, business function and keyword, and results are easily exported in commonly used formats.

Health related quality of life for older people aged 65 and over (average score)(male) (12167) Metric type
- Help text
- Average health status score for adults aged 65 and over as measured using the EQ-5D scale. Health status is derived from responses to Q34 on the GP Patient's Survey, which asks respondents to describe their health status using the five dimensions of the EuroQuol 5D (EQ-5D) survey instrument:
- Mobility
- Self-care
- Usual activities
- Pain / discomfort
- Anxiety / depression
This indicator assesses whether health-related quality of life is changing over time, while controlling for potential measurable confounders (age, sex, long-term conditions, caring responsibility, etc...).
The England value excludes results where the geographical area is unknown. The definition and methodology for producing this indicator aligns as far as possible with the similar indicator on "Health-related quality of life for people with long-term conditions" in the NHS Outcomes Framework ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nhs-outcomes-framework-2013-to-2014 )EQ-5D(TM) is a registered trademark of EuroQol.
