- The number of false alarms is an event in which the fire and rescue service believes they are called to a reportable fire and then find there is no such incident. This data item focuses on malicious false alarms – the call were made with the intention of getting the fire and rescue service to attend a non-existent fire-related event. This includes ‘deliberate’ and ‘suspected malicious’ intentions.
