Help text
This is a calculated metric using data taken from Table 784: Local Authority Summary. This is a simple annual count. As this is an absolute value for each area, care should be taken when drawing any comparisons with other areas.  Regional values are calculated from all single tier and district authorities. Values are rounded to the nearest 10 so regional values which are aggregated and country values may not sum. This is the sum of: those households living in temporary accommodation provided under the homelessness legislation who are living in local authority or housing authority stock; who are living in accommodation leased from the private sector by the local authority or registered social landlord; who are living in 'other' accommodation, including that rented from private landlords. 'Other' accommodation is that which does not fall in to the following categories: local authority or housing authority stock, hostels (including women's refuges, bed and breakfasts, and leased from private sector).
