- This indicator is based on the Place survey Q18: 'To what extent do you agree or disagree that your local area is a place where people from different backgrounds get on well together?'
Survey method: postal survey
This is the proportion of the adult population who say they 'tend to agree', or 'definitely agree' that their local area is a place where people from different backgrounds get on well.
It is based on valid responses. Those who respond with the options 'don't know'/'too few people'/'all same background' are treated as missing values.
This was previously collected as NI 1.
Fieldwork for the 2008/09 survey was carried out between 29/09/2008 to 19/12/2008.
