Help text
This is the estimated number of part-time private sector employees for the area, taken from the annual Office for National Statistics (ONS) Business Register and Employment Survey (BRES). An employee is anyone aged 16 years or over that an organisation directly pays from its payroll(s), in return for carrying out a full-time or part-time job or being on a training scheme. It excludes voluntary workers, self-employed, working owners who are not paid via Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE). Part-time employees are those working 30 hours or less per week.

These figures exclude farm agriculture (SIC subclass 01000) for areas smaller than Region.
