Percentage of residents satisfied with their local area as a place to live. (Was previously collected as NI 5)

This is the proportion of the adult population who say they are 'satisfied', or 'very satisfied' with the area as a place to live.

Survey method: postal survey

This is based on valid responses to the question:

Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied are you with your local area as a place to live? (Place survey, Q3).

This is the percentage of responses which were returned as very or fairly satisfied.

Respondents have the choice of 5 response categories: Very satisfied, fairly satisfied, neither satisfied or dissatisfied, fairly dissatisfied, very dissatisfied.

Those who respond with the options 'don't know'/'too few people'/'all same background' are treated as missing values.

Fieldwork for the 2008/09 survey was carried out between 29/09/2008 to 19/12/2008.
