Did you know we have a dedicated powers and duties tool?

Available to LG Inform Plus subscribers, it provides information on what current legislation gives English and Welsh councils the power to do and what it requires them to do in law. Advanced searching and filtering options make it easy to find specific powers and duties based on legislation, business function and keyword, and results are easily exported in commonly used formats.

This data was collected as part of a voluntary in-year data benchmarking exercise. It shows the year to date position at the end of quarter two of the financial year.

To view a user friendly display of this and other in-year adult social care data please visit: http://lginform.local.gov.uk/reports/view/lga-research/teasc-in-year-benchmarking-201415. This report also includes important information about how these results should be interpreted.

The provisional in-year nature of this data and the fact that it has not undergone full validation means it is most suitable as a timely 'discussion starter’ for councils rather than a definitive picture of the performance of the sector or an individual council. Users looking for a definitive view of sector performance should refer to the published annual data.

The annual version of this indicator is ASCOF 2014/15 2A part 1 (younger adults). Changes in definition mean that 2014/15 data cannot be compared to data from 2013/14 and earlier.

This data is currently only available to local authority users of LG Inform. Prior to public access being granted, please do not disclose named local authority level results more widely when you are reporting, unless with clear written consent from the data owner, or unless it has already been made publicly available by the authority in question, for example on their own website. You can of course use anonymised results.
