Number of children ceasing to be in need in the year ending 31 March, considered to be a child in need for more than 6 months but less than 1 year (3222) Metric type
- Help text
- This is the number of children ceasing to in need at 31 March who have had an open case for 6 to 12 months. This measure provides useful information for local areas to understand their pattern of service compared to other areas. Duration of episode of need is calculated using the difference between the referral date and the Child in Need (CIN) closure date.
This will include data for all children who are in need, including those who are looked after. Some episodes of need will therefore need to be longer, for example if a child is looked after, or is the subject of a child protection plan, or is disabled. Variation of durations is expected.
