Number of adults who attended a live sporting event at least twice in the last year (22330) Metric type
- Help text
- This is the estimated number of adults aged 16 and over who attended two or more live sports events, whether professional or amateur e.g. matches and competition, as well as watching friends and family compete), over the previous 12 months.
When making comparisons between figures, some differences seen may not be significant differences and so a degree of caution should be made before making conclusions. The survey was adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The survey sample is randomly selected from the Royal Mail’s Postal Address File ensuring a very high coverage of private residential addresses. The target sample size for each English local authority (excluding the City of London and Isles of Scilly) is 500 returns. Data may be suppressed for an area where the threshold of 30 is not reached.
Population totals are created using Office for National Statistics (ONS) mid-year population estimates.
Data is sourced from the adult Active Lives November to November survey.
