- This is the number of 4 or more bedroom dwellings owned within the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) vacant but available for letting.
This covers vacant dwellings in the local authority stock at 31 March at the end of the reporting period, whether they are located within the local authority area or not.
Vacant dwellings available for letting includes: Stock where the previous tenant is no longer being charged rent and no works are required before a new tenant can move in; Stock that has been handed over from a contractor, development section or maintenance section on completion of works, for new letting or re-letting, and is in a satisfactory condition for letting; Stock requiring normal maintenance and redecoration work between lets (as a result of tenant turnover). This includes maintenance between tenants moving out and new tenants moving in.
