Did you know we have a dedicated powers and duties tool?
Available to LG Inform Plus subscribers, it provides information on what current legislation gives English and Welsh councils the power to do and what it requires them to do in law. Advanced searching and filtering options make it easy to find specific powers and duties based on legislation, business function and keyword, and results are easily exported in commonly used formats.

Redundancy rates by residence for those aged 16 and over (21962) Metric type
- Help text
- This is the redundancy rates by region of residence for those aged 16 and over, in thousands (not seasonally adjusted). The redundancy rate is the ratio of the redundancy level for the given quarter to the number of employees in the previous quarter, multiplied by 1,000. This is taken from the Labour Force Survey.
The population totals used for the latest LFS estimates use projected growth rates from Real-Time Information (RTI) data for EU and non-EU populations based on 2021 patterns. The total population used for the LFS therefore does not take into account any changes in migration, birth rates, death rates, and so on, since June 2021, so levels estimates may be under- or over-estimating the true values and should be used with caution.
