- This is the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per head at current market prices, in pounds for the area. The data is based on the balanced measure of regional gross value added (GVA(B)) which combines estimates produced using the income and production approaches to create a single best estimate of GVA for each industry in each region. GDP is equivalent to GVA plus Value Added Tax (VAT) plus other taxes on products less subsidies on products.
Resident population numbers from the ONS mid-year population estimates have been used to calculate per head figures.
The latest year's data are provisional. Components may not sum to totals as a result of rounding.
Workplace-based estimates are allocated to the area in which the economic activity takes place.
Per head estimates may be distorted by people commuting to work between regions.
