This is the number of Ukrainian households on the Ukraine Extension Scheme (UES) - The UES enables Ukrainian nationals who held permission to be in the UK on or between 18 March 2022 and 16 May 2023, or who previously held permission to be in the UK and that permission expired on or after 1 January 2022, to extend their stay in the UK.

Management information on homelessness duties accepted by lower tier local authorities in England in respect of Ukrainian households. Government is collecting this information from local authorities in England for monitoring purposes.

This is an ad-hoc release of management information that is voluntarily provided by local authorities and does not constitute an Official Statistics or National Statistics release.

Households that are threatened with homelessness within 56 days are owed help from the local authority to prevent homelessness and the authority must work to relieve homelessness for those who are actually homeless. Households who are statutorily homeless are owed legal duties that fall into three main categories:
Prevention duties include any activities aimed at preventing a household threatened with homelessness from becoming homeless. This would involve activities to enable an applicant to remain in their current home or find alternative accommodation in order to prevent them from becoming homeless. The duty lasts for 56 days, but may be extended if the local authority is continuing with efforts to prevent homelessness.
