Percentage of people receiving support with regulated activities through community based adult social care services self-funded or by other means (17788) Metric type
- Help text
- This is the number of people supported through community based adult social care who are NOT funded in full or in part by their local authority, or receive NHS Continuing Health Care expressed as a percentage of all people supported through community based adult social care. These people will be self-funded or charity funded, including those in receipt of NHS Funded Nursing Care, and those paying the full cost through their local authority. This includes people supported by community based adult social care services that have responded to the Provider Information Return (PIR) in the last 12 months.
This measure is based on an aggregation of all PIR responses over the last 12 months. All registered managers of adult social care locations are invited to complete the provider information return (PIR) on an annual basis (unless the service has been excluded from the request process). The PIR is a snapshot of services at the time it is completed. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) use this information to monitor the quality of care provided.
