Percentage take-up rate of Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) claims (fifth grant) (15495) Metric type
- Help text
- This is the percentage take-up rate of the fifth grant of the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS). There are two levels to the fifth SEISS grant. This percentage is for both the higher and lower grants.
Take-up is based on total number of claims to date (excludes error and rejected cases) over total potentially eligible population (includes error and rejected cases).
SEISS provides support for self-employed individuals whose business has been adversely affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19). The claims window for the fifth SEISS grant opened on 29 July until the end of September 2021. Individuals, who meet the income and trading criteria and whose business has been affected by Coronavirus, can claim a taxable grant worth either 80% or 30% of their average monthly trading profits depending on the change in turnover reported in their Financial Impact Declaration (FID). To be eligible for the higher grant, individuals must declare that their turnover has declined by 30% or more between their reference year and the pandemic year.
The figures are based on claims submitted up to a date determined by the HMRC and may not match the calendar month.
