- This is the total number of miles driven on roads maintained by English Local Authorities annually, presented in billion miles.
Figures are calculated on a road network based on road management responsibility as it was on 1st April of the most recent available year. As a result, roads that were detrunked on this date are part of LA managed roads for the full time series regardless of when the road moved from HE managed to the LA managed.
