- This is the percentage of FCA survey respondents with a low level of knowledge about financial matters.
Low is defined as a response of 0-6 to the question: How knowledgeable would you say you are about financial matters?
This information is from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Financial Lives Survey. It is a large-scale survey of UK adults, undertaken by the FCA to aid their understanding of consumers in the retail markets they regulate, including in relation to their financial situations and their attitudes towards managing their money. Levels of financial knowledge and confidence provides some useful insight levels of financial vulnerability and resilience. The first Financial Lives Survey concluded in April 2017, the second survey concluded in February 2020, (displayed as 2019) and the third reports on how consumers have fared during the coronavirus concluded in October 2020.
