- This is the percentage take-up rate of the second grant of the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).
Take-up is based on total number of claims to date (excludes error and rejected cases) over total potentially eligible population (includes error and rejected cases).
SEISS provides support for self-employed individuals whose business has been adversely affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19). From 13 August until 19 October 2020 eligible self-employed individuals could claim a second taxable grant worth 70% of their average monthly trading profits, paid out in a single instalment covering three months' worth of profits, and capped at £6,570 in total.
The scheme is for self-employed individuals and members of a partnership who meet the following criteria: 1) Traded in the tax year 2018 to 2019 and submitted their Self Assessment tax return on or before 23 April 2020 for that year. 2) Traded in the tax year 2019 to 2020. 3) Intended to continue to trade in the tax year 2020 to 2021. 4) Carried on a trade which had been adversely affected by coronavirus.
The grant is not open to limited companies or those operating a trade through a trust.
You don't need to have claimed the first grant to receive the second grant. If you've claimed the first, you can still claim the second as long as you're eligible.
