- This is the total value for the initial Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) claims - cumulative (£).
Includes individuals that have applied and are awaiting payment or have been paid. Excludes error and rejected cases.
SEISS provides support for self-employed individuals whose business has been adversely affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19). From 13 May until 13 July 2020 eligible self-employed individuals could claim an initial taxable grant worth 80% of their average monthly trading profits, paid out in a single instalment covering three months' worth of profits, and capped at £7,500 in total.
The scheme is for self-employed individuals and members of a partnership who meet the following criteria: 1) Traded in the tax year 2018 to 2019 and submitted their Self Assessment tax return on or before 23 April 2020 for that year. 2) Traded in the tax year 2019 to 2020. 3) Intended to continue to trade in the tax year 2020 to 2021. 4) Carried on a trade which had been adversely affected by coronavirus.
The grant is not open to limited companies or those operating a trade through a trust.
Figures are rounded to the nearest 100,000. Components may not sum to the total because of rounding.
