- This is the number of local bus journeys originating in the area by local authority in millions. Based on former National Indicator 177 (note: these figures are not consistent with figures in tables BUS0101 to BUS0109a) and are published annually. When reported as a National Indicator, figures for these areas included light rail journeys. The local authority figures shown here relate to bus only. In some areas, the number of light rail journeys from DfT Light Rail and Tram statistics has been used to remove the light rail journeys from the total.
Data are available at the local authority level (single tier authorities and county councils) although in some areas data are only available at the Integrated Transport Authority (ITA) level or the London level.
