- This is the number of non-fire false alarms. A false alarm is an event in which the fire and rescue service believes they are called to a reportable incident and then find there is no such incident. This data item includes both 'good intent' non-fire false alarms where the call was made in good faith in the belief that the fire and rescue service really would attend a fire and 'malicious' non-fire false alarms where the call were made with the intention of getting the fire and rescue service to attend a non-existent event.
