Pupil referral units - management committee Duty
- Description
- Local authorities must establish management committees to run pupil referral units (PRUs) in their area, and make provision for the constitution and procedures of such committees.
Local authorities must delegate some of their functions in relation to pupil referral units to the management committee but must not delegate functions in relation to staffing and finance of the unit, health and safety issues, control of premises and a reserve power in relation to prevention of a breakdown of discipline.
