Description
In their role as an adoption agency the authority must, as far as is reasonably practicable:
- provide a counselling service for the child
- explain to the child in an appropriate manner the procedure in relation to, and the legal implications of, adoption for the child and provide him with appropriate written information about these matters
- ascertain the child’s wishes and feelings regarding the possibility of placement for adoption, the child's religious and cultural upbringing and contact with his parent or guardian or other relative or with any other person the agency considers relevant.
