Elections - notification of change of name of electoral area Duty

Description
A local authority must obtain the approval of the Electoral Commission before changing the names of certain electoral areas and must inform the Electoral Commision, the Boundary Commission for England, Office of National Statistics and the Director General of the Ordnance Survey once the resolution has been passed. In a two tier area a county must inform the district or a district inform the county within whose area the electoral area lies.
