Highways - provision of services and amenities Power
- Description
- Subject to conditions detailed in the legislation, a council shall have power to carry out works on, in or over a highway to which this Part of this Act applies and to place objects or structures on, in or over such a highway, for the purpose of giving effect to a pedestrian planning order, of enhancing the amenity of the highway and its immediate surroundings or of providing a service for the benefit of the public or a section of the public. A council shall have the power to maintain any such works or structures and to impose conditions on others carrying out such works.
