- Fire and Rescue Services (FRS) have a duty to undertake community fire safety campaigns and initiatives. Typical activities include: home fire safety checks, arson prevention, promotional work with young people and other vulnerable groups. These checks are conducted either by the Fire and Rescue Service direct or their partners e.g. local councils.
Home Fire Safety checks are carried out on a targeted basis with various members of the community and can result in the installation of fire prevention equipment such as smoke alarms.
