- Primary fires include all fires in buildings, vehicles and outdoor structures or any fire involving casualties, rescues, or fires attended by five or more appliances. An appliance is counted if either the appliance, equipment from it or personnel riding on it, were used to fight the fire.
This indicator focuses on the number of primary fires that occurred in 'other buildings' (i.e. not in dwellings, private garages/sheds, agricultural premises, industrial premises or retail distribution buildings).
