Number of Apprenticeship achievements at Intermediate level under 19 (9323) Metric type
- Help text
- Number of learners who completed an apprenticeship at any point during the academic year aged under 19. Apprenticeships are paid jobs that incorporate on- and off-the-job training leading to nationally recognised qualifications. As an employee, apprentices earn as they learn and gain practical skills in the workplace.
An Intermediate Apprenticeship is equivalent to five good GCSE passes. The apprentice works towards work-based learning qualifications such as an NVQ Level 2, Key Skills and, in most cases, a relevant knowledge-based qualification such as a BTEC. These provide the skills required for the apprenticeships chosen career and allow entry to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
Learners starting more than one apprenticeship will appear more than once and will be allocated to an area based on their home postcode.
Data is rounded to the nearest ten except for England which are rounded to the nearest hundred and values of less than 5 (less than 50 for England) have been suppressed. Age is calculated based on the age at start of the programme.
