Number of Apprenticeship starts at Advanced level age 25 and above (9313) Metric type
- Help text
- Number of learners who started an apprenticeship at any point during the academic year aged 25 and above. Apprenticeships are paid jobs that incorporate on- and off-the-job training leading to nationally recognised qualifications. As an employee, apprentices earn as they learn and gain practical skills in the workplace.
An Advanced Apprenticeship is equivalent to two A-level passes. Advanced apprentices work towards work-based learning qualifications such as an NVQ Level 3, Key Skills and, in most cases, a relevant knowledge-based certificate such as a BTEC. To start this programme, the applicant should ideally have five GCSEs at grade C or above or have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship.
Learners starting more than one apprenticeship will appear more than once and will be allocated to an area based on their home postcode.
Data is rounded to the nearest ten except for England which are rounded to the nearest hundred and values of less than 5 (less than 50 for England) have been suppressed.
