- This is the percentage of children in need at 31 March who have had an open case for 2 years and over. The duration is calculated using the difference between 31 March of the current period and the referral rate. An open case describes the status of the child as still in need. The total figures for England and regional totals are rounded to the nearest 10. Sub totals may not add up to the England total and regional totals due to rounding.
