Help text
The purpose of this domain is to measure the rate of recorded crime for four major volume crime types - burglary, theft, criminal damage and violence - representing the risk of personal and material victimisation at a small area level. In this case 'district' refers to all authority types other than county councils. The lower super output area (LSOA) with a rank of 1 is the most deprived. LSOAs are small fixed geographic areas encompassing a population of approximately 1,000 people. Further detail on the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/english-indices-of-deprivation-2010
