IMD - Employment - scale (8365) Metric type
- Help text
- The domain measures the proportion of the working age population in an area involuntarily excluded from the labour market. This includes people who would like to work but are unable to do so due to unemployment, sickness or disability, or caring responsibilities.
Scale is a local authority level measure which represents the number of people who are employment deprived. The more deprived is an area, the higher the IMD score but the lower the rank. Further detail on the Index of multiple deprivation (IMD) can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/english-indices-of-deprivation
