IMD - Barriers to Housing and Services - average rank (8359) Metric type
- Help text
- The domain measures the physical and financial accessibility of housing and local services. The indicators fall into two sub-domains: 'geographical barriers', which relate to the physical proximity of local services, and 'wider barriers' which includes issues relating to access to housing such as affordability and homelessness.
Average rank is a local authority level measure which represents the population weighted average of the ranks of LSOAs in the area. The more deprived is an area, the higher the IMD score but the lower the rank. Further detail on the Index of multiple deprivation (IMD) can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/english-indices-of-deprivation
