- The main IMD summary measure. It is a weighted average of the seven IMD domains: Income Deprivation, Employment Deprivation, Health Deprivation and Disability, Education Skills and Training Deprivation, Barriers to Housing and Services, Living Environment Deprivation, and Crime. The more deprived is an area, the higher the IMD score but the lower the rank.
Average rank is a local authority level measure which represents the population weighted average of the ranks of LSOAs in the area. Further detail on the Index of multiple deprivation (IMD) can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/english-indices-of-deprivation
