- This is all syphilis diagnoses (primary, secondary and early latent) among people of all ages accessing sexual health services (SHS), expressed as a rate per 100,000 population. Syphilis is an important public health issue in men who have sex with men (MSM). Data exclude people accessing SHS services located in England who are resident in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland or abroad.
Figures are from the GUMCAD STI Surveillance System.
Numbers between 1 and 4 with a population less than 10,000 are suppressed. Where counts for City of London are between 1 and 4, these are combined with Hackney.
