CO2 emissions estimates - Land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF) per capita (435) Metric type
- Help text
- This is the estimate in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) emissions per head of population for land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF) (including removals of CO2 from the atmosphere, so that net emissions from this sector can sometimes be negative). This includes net emissions from forest land, cropland, grassland, wetlands, settlements, and harvested wood products.
Carbon dioxide is reported in terms of net emissions, which means total emissions minus total removals of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by carbon sinks. Carbon sinks are any process, activity or mechanism which removes a greenhouse gas, an aerosol or a precursor of a greenhouse gas from the atmosphere.
The data show emissions allocated on an "end-user" basis where emissions related to energy use are distributed according to the point of energy consumption. Emissions that are not energy related are distributed based on the point of emission.
