IMD - Employment district rank (394) Metric type
- Help text
- This domain measures employment deprivation conceptualised as involuntary exclusion of the working-age population from work. The underlying indicators are summed and expressed as a rate of the relevant population (the whole population aged 18 - 59 plus men aged 60 - 64). In this case 'district' refers to all authority types other than county councils. The lower super output area (LSOA) with a rank of 1 is the most deprived. LSOAs are small fixed geographic areas encompassing a population of approximately 1,000 people. Further detail on the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/english-indices-of-deprivation
