Average data downloaded by area (GB / premises) (3855) Metric type

- This metric shows the gigabyte per premises per month of mobile data usage used within an area. It has been produced by Ofcom, using data provided by communications providers. The numbers include data consumption by both residential and business customers. They also include customers of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), who operate retail mobile services through wholesale access provided by the MNOs.
The numbers do not include data 'offloaded' by mobile devices users onto private and public Wi-Fi. This is because when consumers use mobiles over Wi-Fi the connection is not provided by the mobile network provider.
