- This metric shows the total number of indivdiuals who are liabel to UK income tax in an area. The data is sourced from HRMC's Survey of Personal Incomes (SPI) which is a sample survey of individual liable to income tax. As with any sample survey estimates provided are subsject to sampling error, for areas with a population of 2.5 million or more the sampling error is low at +/- 1% rising to +/- 4% with populations of 200,000, therefore caution should be used when viewing data for small areas.
