Percentage of planning appeals allowed - Quarterly (3417) Metric type
- Help text
- The number of planning appeal decisions allowed (including split decisions) against the authority's decision to refuse on planning applications as a percentage of the total number of planning appeals against refusals of planning applications.
'Planning appeals' include only appeals on planning applications where the local planning authority has refused planning permission. It does not include planning appeals against conditions or non-determinations. The calculation also excluded all other application types of appeal e.g. Advertisement Appeals, Enforcement Appeals, and Lawful Development Certificate appeals, etc.
This metric includes all appeal decisions allowed if the date of the Planning Inspector or Secretary of State's decision was within the reporting period, regardless of when the appeal was lodged.
Until Q3 2015/16 data was uploaded from table 6.1 of the Planning Inspectorate: Statistical Report, post this period all data has been calculated from Planning Inspectorate Appeals Data
