- This is the number of children in reception year classified as obese, including severe obesity as a percentage of all children measured. This is based on 3 years of measurement, based on the child's area of residence.
This indicator is designed to estimate and monitor the prevalence of obesity in children. This will inform the planning and delivery of services for children, ensure the proper targeting of resources to tackle obesity and help to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity.
